Being pregnant and preparing for one of life’s biggest changes is an exciting and exhausting time. No matter if this will be your first child or if there already are older siblings. But nonetheless it is such a special time that is worth holding on to and capturing in photos. No matter how good you feel about your body at this particular time treat yourself to a maternity photo session to freeze this moment in time when your family is about to expand by one. So here are some tips on how to plan a lifestyle maternity photo session.
lifestyle to me means to capture your personality in your images. I want to capture you and your growing family in a way that shows your personality. And your location choice is an important part of it. So you can either choose to have a session in your home where your personal touches will make the session even more special. Or you can choose an outdoor location where nature or a skyline view will complement your photos. If you are not sure which one you prefer I will help guide you and suggest some locations for your style.
Usually some time between 28 to 36 weeks of pregnancy works for most. You want to have a nice bump but not feel too big that you can’t move around anymore. Keep in mind htat babies don’t come according to schedule. Some come early so you don’t want to miss having maternity photos taken because you waited too long to get them done.
how to dress
But what to wear you might ask. Dressing with an ever changing body is not easy for all women. And again it depends on your personal preference. Not everyone is comfortable in a dress. Even though that is usually the go to for maternity. But leggins with a tunic or jeans and a sweater might work just as well. Either way I am here to guide you with recommendations regrading colors, patterns and styles.
maternity photo sessions are special not only if you are expecting your first child. The anticipation is so sweet if there is an older sibling in the family already. It might be a good way to give your older siblings a whole lot of attention before the baby arrives.
